Hi there! Here’s the short and sweet rundown of how Fishtown Medicine handles your health info:

We guard your data. Everything you share with us is encrypted and only seen by team members who need it to care for you.
Your rights, your call. You can:
- Peek at your chart or download it.
- Ask us to fix mistakes.
- Tell us how (and where) you’d like us to contact you.
- Pay cash and keep that visit off your insurance record.
- Get a list of who we’ve shared your info with (outside routine care).
Why we use your info. Mainly to treat you, run the practice, send bills, and remind you about appointments or results. We never hand it over to health plans unless they’re paying for something you asked for (like labs or an MRI).
What we’ll never do. We don’t sell your data, use it for marketing, or share your notes without your OK.
Extra-sensitive stuff. Records about mental health, substance use, HIV, genetics, or reproductive care get extra legal protection.
How long we keep it. At least seven years, then it’s securely destroyed.
If something goes wrong. A breach? We’ll tell you ASAP and explain the fix.
